It’s not too late to achieve your dream of becoming a Youtuber. But if you want to grow on YouTube, there are a few things you should consider in order to succeed. In this blog post, we go through the things you need to know to succeed on YouTube.
If you want to start a YouTube channel, I recommend filming three videos to see how it feels. Are you comfortable in front of the camera? How long did it take to edit?
The next step is to decide if you want to create content on YouTube sporadically or if you want to invest in it and make it serious. Just like on any other channel, Youtube requires you to actually put time and energy into your content, if you want to grow. If you are serious about Youtube, I recommend that you to post one video a week for seven weeks.
When the seven weeks are over, you will have learned:
- Whether you will be able to create content for YouTube on a regular basis (regularity is one of the keys to success on YouTube).
- What your strengths and weaknesses are when it comes to filming. Do you need to get better at filming? Create thumbnails or improve the sound?
- You will be more comfortable behind the camera, editing and creating content.
In order to grow on YouTube, you need to choose which niche you want to create content in. By choosing a niche, you can analyze what others are doing well and think about how you can create similar, better content. Also, think about whether you have some kind of unfair advantage that can give you an edge over your competitors.
Once you get your channel up and running, I recommend looking at the data to see what you’re doing well and what can be improved. For example, when I look at my own data, I see that my viewers are more interested in the writing habits of famous authors than how I read 100 books in a year.
